Being a mom is a rewarding yet demanding role that often leaves little time for self-care. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s crucial to carve out moments to decompress and recharge. Whether you’re juggling work, household chores, or the endless needs of your little ones, finding ways to relax can make the world of difference. I want to share some of my practical and enjoyable ways I like to unwind and take care of my mental and emotional well-being. Mental health can make or break anyone and trust me I know what it’s like to be way over stimulated. I have also been a single mother at a time in my life and being able to hand off the kids to my partner was not an option. Finding a second to “get yourself together” as a single parent is very difficult, challenging and hard on a person and their mental. It’s so important for your well-being, so I want to share my tips and tricks to help!
- Pampering Yourself: Treat yourself to a at home spa. Doing your own nails, pedicure, face masks, and hot bath/shower. Take your time and enjoy the peace!
- Meditation or Yoga: These will help you relax and clear your mind. Yoga will also strech the body releasing the bad and collecting the good. Take time to breath and let it go. Think about all the good and be grateful for the thing you do have and you happy, healthy family.
- Screen Time: This is a idea if you can hand the children off and you just need a few minutes. Screen time for the kids weather it be the tables, tv or games, this gives them times as well as yourself. Enjoy these little moments or short moments should I say.
- Hobbies: Take back your hobbies or find a hobby. This well help you get away for you time. I’m not saying you can’t share a hobby with your partner or family, I saying you also need something for yourself so you don’t loose yourself.
- Cooking/Baking: This one isn’t for all, but for some. Getting in the kitchen can be a escape if you love the art of cooking something fun and fresh. For some cooking is their love language. Putting on some music and putting love into the recipe can be decompressing and relaxing.
Remember self-care is essential and your mental health is most important! Fitting in some alone time will help you recharge and be the best mom you can be. Breath, take a few minutes and get back to it! With all the love I hope this helps.
